Administration Help

The Administration section (of the Admin Site) contains six subsections:

  1. Content Approval - This area allows you to accept or reject content that has been submitted from the public site. This is only applicable IF you have a "Submit Content for Site" page where you solicit submissions.
  2. Security Groups - This section determines the level of accessibility for each page and content item. The standard levels of access are:
Administrator - The highest level of access. This should not be used on anything except the administration site.
Page Author - This level is for people who work on the site but should not have access to administration functions.
Content Author - This level is for people who you want to be able to create content, but not put that content on pages.
Member Restricted - This level is for the Public web site and is used to restrict access to certain pages and content to registered members of the site.
Pre-Login - This is a special type of access that provides public viewing, but once a user is logged in as a registered user it no longer shows up. For example, a link to the Member Login page is not necessary if the member has logged in.
Public - Provides access for anyone coming to the site.
  3. System Settings - These settings control many of the automated functions on the site. You should never change any of them unless you know what you are doing. If you have questions, please ask before doing anything.
  4. Error Report - Site or page errors will be displayed here.
  5. Data Report - An overview of the various pages, content, and resources on the site that are either inactive or not being used.
  6. Calendar Approval - Any calendar events that are submitted from the public site will show up here and will have to be approved before being put on the calendar.
