Quick-Add is a convenient way to quickly add specific types of content whose format is fixed. Content items such as PayPal Products, Upcoming Events, and Member Profiles (if you have these implemented on your site) are usually standard items whose format does not change. The Quick-Add saves you a few steps in the process.
One drawback to using the QuickAdd format is that you cannot change the format or add optional items (such as resources, if they're not already allowed). If you find you need to modify something about the content item, you can change the style setting from "QuickAdd" to "Mixed".
